Downtown Amsterdam is around the corner from Outside Inn.

The metro station is a 300 mtr (less than a ¼ mile) walk away. See our Contact & Directions page for the best ticketing options. The Metro itself is self-explaining; if not, don’t worry most people in Holland speak English and are willing to help you.

From the metro station it is only 8 minutes until you are at Nieuwmarkt, the heart of the city near the red light district, bars and restaurants. If you decide to stay on the metro it will take you to Amsterdam Central Station.

We can also tell you about the other bits, the other things to see and activities to do that will make your stay different. The best way to explore Amsterdam is on a rented bicycle. This will enable you to get to the places others don’t remember or have not seen. Be surprised by stories about secret places, differences in water levels a few meters apart. See different kinds of shops and pubs, city beaches, different museums or just enjoy a beautiful bike ride.
